barack will fix it

so apparently my mom's new slogan when something isn't working is "barack will fix it". well momma, i hope so. it's no wonder they called it the depression because this recession stuff is depressing!

i watched a lot of tv while feeding the nola meister during my maternity leave (yes people, i'm already back to work).....i was so excited and prepped for this. gabby would be at school and big moms would have the remote all to herself...little nola too disabled by her youth to stop me. today show, ellen, oprah here i come! the programs would be filled with holiday cheer, shopping guides, menu ideas, oprah's favorite things o my! add a recession and what do you get? design on a dime bull crap....lessons on regifting....and the worst most sinful of all - oprah's favorite things is replaced by "thrifty gifts under $10?!?". come on oprah, give me a break. i know you were not making homemade boxes for your kin this holiday so don't insult me. hey, i'm affected by this slump....in fact we only bought presents for the kids this year and it sucked. that doesn't mean that i don't want to drool over the hottest gadgets and gear! this economy needs stimulation and in my opinion all the media was doing was making those that could spend feel guilty about spending and keeping them away from the stores! look what happened when michelle obama plugged jcrew...somehow all of those customers found it in their walletts to buy out all of the rags michelle donned on leno.

so fix it mr. obama. whip the media into shape. promote grass root economic stimulation. economic stimulation means more demand for retail which means more stores will be expanding which means more deals for my hubby to close which means big momma can go shopping again. it's the circle of life! i kid i kid.
