ode to alec

my dearest alec started high school this week....where has the time gone?? when i first met alec he was 7 years old and it was love at first sight. he, still to this day, is one of the kindest souls in the universe. i was so so nervous the first time i was going to meet him. i was flying from b-more to cleveland not only to meet bryan's parents for the first time, stay at their house for a long weekend and meet his son....can we say pressure?!? oh and did i mention that bryan and i had only been dating for 3 months at that point? (we're not patient people). so i assumed i would have time to prepare in the car from the airport in cleveland to their log cabin about 30 minutes away.....i get off the plane, made my way to meet bryan and behold this little man with him. he had me at hello. he shook my hand, was so polite, offered to carry my bags and was sincerely interested in getting to know me. we've been best buds ever since. now with all of that mushy stuff said....how did my little underoo wearing boy transform into such a man in 7 years?!?

this is alec (and my hot hubster) circa 2004...sorry people, i am not happy with the photo quality prior to 2004...so lets start at age 10...

2 weeks ago.....he's the man boy standing on tree trunks and taking up 1/2 the picture (i mean that in a nice way of course)

but even though he is in high school, and even though he is a giant, he will always be my sweet boy and no girl will ever be good enough for him!! (foreshadowing a psycho step mother of the groom) :)
