- not having to take planes, trains or really long drives in automobiles to visit family
- Gabby being old enough to get really excited about Santa
- Reconnecting with lots of old friends
- Mom's crab dip
- Being able to buy baby boy presents for my future nephew
- Gabby's pre-school holiday program where she recited Star Light Star Bright
- Incredibly amazing shopping deals a la the recession
- My dad having lots of time off work
- My sister Cristine and her beau Michael not being able to visit from Cali
- Breaking my foot and spraining my ankle (story for another blog)
- Not having any time off left for work and being incredibly busy
I've spent the last 15 years on the run....moving from one state to another both geographically and personally. What I've learned this past year is that everything I want, everything I need is right where I started. It took some adjusting and I certainly wouldn't have the level of appreciation and awareness had I not lived all over.....but being with my family, my parents, is the best medicine a girl could have. I went from seeing my parents a couple times a year to seeing them every single day....and now I know that I wouldn't have it any other way.
Happy New Year everyone! 2010 is it!
